AEIT Week (22nd & 23rd Sept 2010)

its Friday again....
i love weekends~ either i'm going back home or not, Weekends give me a feeling of relax...
if in hostel, i'll just online or sleep most of the time, and read novel. hehe~
if at home, sure will enjoyed my hometown food and spent time with my family & friends.

I'm currently in degree Year 2. seriously, i feel that i really like my year 2 life compare to year 1 life. and I hope my result this year will be better than last year... ^^ strive for success!!!

AS mentioned in the 2nd half of my previous blog, Wednesday and Thursday is AEIT week.... which is AIMST Engineering and Information Technology week.

The opening speech was by the Vice Chancellor- Professor Dr Federrick Charles Smale.
after his speech, was an officially launching of AEIT Week by VC too.
immediately after the launching, Mr Sivaguru played the Multimedia Presentation. (about AIMST Engineering Faculty and also future engineering careers path).
then, Dean is invited to give the memento as a token of appreciation to VC.

after tea break, is the Seminar for SPM Maths by Mr Susai from Penang.



i think the secondary schools student enjoyed his seminar.
only us, degree student feel boring and funny coz sometimes he is asking 'Kindergarden-level' question...haiz.

Next, the students are seperated to 4 different places for 4 different events:
1. Quiz in Maths, Science, IT & IQ
2. E-Aimst competition
3. Egg Drop contest



4. BUild the Bridge competition


means using given bunch of satay stick and rubber band to build a bridge that can withstand the maximum weight.



here are all the 6 groups product....
some can withstand 12kg, some 20kg......... i also forgotten.


After all the competition, its time for Prize Giving....
before that, we ordered bread and milk from cafe for the students as everyone are hungry. (its already lunch time).
so the juniors are helping to distribute the bread and milk. me too helping them and make sure everyone got it.



this picture is super super funny and weird. haha.
my classmate came to the stage after i get the reward from the dean.
we win the Egg Drop Contest-- first prize = RM 100.
but its our other classmate who doing the protecting-egg-device. and just put our name to go for the contest because they are the committee, so cannot participate.
and i just help them to take the prize during the prize giving ceremony.
hence, we divide the money not equally. means they take more money, because they are putting much effort in designing and manufacturing it. haha~

meanwhile, on Mid Autumn Day, it was raining heavily outside when we wanna play lantern.
then we decided to play in hostel living room. haha~
2 lanterns burned but we extinguished it in time. lolx.

the second day of AEIT WEEK:
I was the MC again... but today just our faculty students and lecturer attending as it was talk from Engineering field person.
the first speaker: Ms Summayah from National Instruments.
second: Mr Mohd Fahmi from Agilent Technologies
third: Mr Shaamuganathan from Kontron Design Manufacturing Services.

till now, i still remember the 3 speakers name. lolx.
haha. because during the memento giving time, i need to call 3 of them to come forward the stage consecutively without referring to my script. luckily i didn't call their name wrongly. haha.

after that, ends the AEIT week. and my job is done. ^^ hehe...

thanks to my lecturer for giving me this chance to become the MC of the event. at least i gain some experience. =)

Happy Mooncake Festival @ Happy Lantern Festival

TOday is Mooncake Festival which also known as Lantern Festival.
because in Lunar Calender, today is 15th of August.... (农历八月十五)
so here i wish you all:

中秋节快乐。。。

this is what we always heard during this festival:
每逢佳节倍思亲。。。
and

但愿人长久，千里共婵娟

which is my previous blog title... click it to see some mooncake^^ hehe....

during Lantern Festival, some common things that we'll do is:
1.提灯笼
2.吃月饼 eating mooncake
3.赏月

and not to forget, during the lantern taking parade (i mean 提灯笼游行).
every city or town will have their own culture/ own yelling words.

for example in my hometown-- AYER TAWAR, when we taking the lantern and walk around the houses or taman, we'll yell: "ma ni ma ni boh oh~"

then the others one will yell: "boh o~boh o~boh o~"

after that together they will yell:" yiang deng yiang hui o~...."

got some simplicity yelling means will continue: "yiang ga ba la mo hui o......." and a lot more, i can't remember.... haha~


here's another version:
A-ni-ma-ni-po-o, po-o Ngiang teng ngiang hui oh Ngiang gau pa lak mo hui oh

actually the pronouciation is the same. coz its also from Ayer Tawar. just the spelling different. lolx..

haha, i not sure whether its correct or not coz my Hokchow is not so good...
well, for those who speak Hokkien or Cantonese as their dilect, they sure dunno what are the meaning and will think its very funny... =p
Those more brave one (or ppl call them samseng although i think some of them are not...) will drive their motorcycle around the town and shouting the sentence mentioned above.

i wonder why SP, Alor Setar and Penang and town people didn't shout when taking lantern.

I still remember during my Form 5 mooncake festival time, most of my classmates decided to go "ti deng long" (read in chinese) together.
So more than half of the class, we bring our lantern, and candle, and matches, gathered at one of my friend's house, then walk from one housing area to another. meanwhile, we shout the yell i mentioned above.

during my foundation time, i celebrated this lantern festival with my roommates and housemates. we also take lantern in our campus. n hang the lanterns on the tree. some lantern even burned after the candle finish. haha. n i brought along mooncake from house too n share wif my frens. tat's nice. different differnt moooncake mix n eat.

怀念怀念~

last year, i celebrated this festival here in my campus too. and that time, not much celebration, just joining my ex-classmates and those foundation students and follow them to the sports complex to see they put the 孔明灯. coz the Dentistry students are selling it and also having stalls set up at cafe.

this year, same. they are doing so. and i'm going to celebrate too later.
but oops, its raining now... hmm. see how la. may be play in hostel. lolx.
or just wait for the rain stop. i guess it will stop soon...

just now i bought the lantern from my junior. haha. they selling illegally but cheaper compare to BDS one. so i support them^^
and they say they just sell it to gain experience only. haha~

Conclusion: I prefer small town style Mooncake festival celebration.

and u know what, 1 hour before the seminar start, i was only told by my lecturer that i need to be the MC of the seminar today. so after breakfast, i went to see the lecturer in charge and she tell me what i should talk, at the same time i was writing it down.

it begins with:
A very good morning to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Frederick Charles Smales, Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sethuraman, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hacharan Singh.....Dean of Faculty of Enginering........ bla bla bla..... Welcome to the third AIMST Enginering and IT week.


after the event end, they told me i need to be MC again for tomorrow...
welcoming and introducing the 2 speakers...
haiz. but not really a big crowd tomorrow i guess. so no worry for me, hehe....

时间过得真快，不知不觉， 中秋节快到了。这星期三。。。九月二十二日。
记得我在放假时，写了一篇部落格，关于“中秋月饼”：

那已经是一个月前了。爸爸放工回来，拿了两盒月饼，是公司送的。
我喜欢吃月饼~ 呵呵。

去年，我比较“严重”，因为中秋节那天要补课，所以不能回家。
也因此，写了一篇Mooncake...的部落格。找了很多月饼的照片和blog...

不过去年，我跟同乡的中学同学一起在大学看孔明灯和吃小月饼。也认识了一些朋友。更看到了同乡的学长，念牙科最后一年的。之前就有跟他用简讯联络，不过没看过他真人，哈哈。

上星期马来新年我回家，大伯从吉隆坡带回来了一盒月饼给我们。



是“麦可思”的。口味是：Tiramisu & Bluberry Blackcurrant Cheese.



哥哥说口味怪怪的。尤其是这个Tiramisu的，我切来吃。
结果，差不多整粒都是我吃完。呵呵。。。


中秋节：--很自然的会听见：

刚才开FB, 竟然看到爱大华妈妈蛋糕店 也有个户口。
吓到啊。。。呵呵。
而且他们放了它店卖的月饼。。。
看起来很好吃。
也很便宜。

不知道我十月一日回去时，还有卖吗？我很想吃啊。。。。
可是九月二十二日就是中秋节了。

突然很想妈妈。。。
前天是她的生日。有看之前一篇部落格的人都知道。
可是妈妈昨天早上才到家。而且到家后，冲凉洗衣了，就去教会了。
昨天是马来西亚日。公共假期，所以没上课。
我睡到十一点才起来，呵呵。
一醒来，就看到姐姐寄给我的彩信。
是妈妈的蛋糕！！！
爸爸买的。啊~我要吃。。。

还写着这么大个字：TIRAMISU

下午，我吃了午餐后，有收到妈妈的彩信:
第二个蛋糕。。。
真可惜我没回家，不能吃到。

我心想：这个应该是教会的姐妹们买给妈妈的。
没错的话，他们昨天下午去Sunlight Cafe庆祝。
（因为中午时他们去Sayang店买礼物，哈哈）





这是我妈妈从澳洲带回来给我的礼物。。。
巧克力~
其实，自从我绑牙后，就戒吃巧克力和零食了。
可是，这次假期回去，看到冰箱里的这盒巧克力，就拿了一粒出来吃。很好吃，而且很开心的是：这巧克力不会粘我的braces。所以又在去拿了第二个来吃，呵呵。
最后，我还把整盒带回来宿舍，分给朋友。因为哥哥说他不要吃了。
同时，我还吃了朋友送我的Ferrero Rosher巧克力。也不大会粘牙齿。
我给自己一个结论：要吃巧克力，就要吃好品牌的，比如澳洲或纽西兰的，才不会粘在牙齿。哈哈。。。

最近一直在看着：《那些年，我们一起追的女孩》。很好看。。。


最近，想回家也不能，很多Assignment, Tutorial, Case Study, Homework, Presentation.... 唉~这就是大学生活。
真的很期待Mid Sem Break...可是回来就是Mid Sem Test 了。
不过我还是很喜欢回家~~~
尤其是新家。
虽然回到家，总是要做家务：扫地抹地。屋子里屋子外。我的家，哥哥的家。。。
可是回家的感觉是很棒的。难以形容。

喜欢哥哥半夜来敲我的门;然后说：我来Spot Check你睡了没有。 =="
其实是来我家偷吃东西。哈哈XD

my mum's birthday...

today is 15th September. (12am just past).
its my mum's birthday.

she had Facebook. hehe.
and she put in her FB that her birthday is 31st August. =="
on that day, i saw got ppl wish her Happy Birthday on her FB wall, i feel very funny...
haha.
and that time she is still in AUstralia. when she came back last last Saturday,
she asked me: why so many ppl wish me Happy Birthday on 31st August?
i told her because ur FB there put ur birthday is 31/8/1957 .. haha~

today i'm still going to have my classes at 11-1pm and 5-7pm.
although Thursday is Public Holiday-- MALAYSIA DAY,
but its impossible for me to go back home today evening
coz Friday there's still classes going on.

well, anyway, my mum is still at Medan, Indonesia now.
last last Saturday she just came back from AUstralia and last Thursday, she went Medan with another 2 church sister.
they went there to teach Praise Dance Exercise @ Avia Bethel Church, Indonesia.
thanks to my mum, coz she get my Medan's friend e-mail address for me
so that i can add her on FB. her name is Suci (Sukiwi's daughter).
really missed those time i had with them in Medan.
their cell group- Mutatuli members are all nice.
the Doctor's wife said they all are 好吃好玩，好敬拜，好分享，好团契，好祷告。。。
wow, that's good.

tomorrow, i mean today, she'll be back from Medan...
my sister at home now. she went back yesterday.
but my brother went JB yesterday and me too, came back the day be4 yesterday.
haiz, always can't meet her...

'date' with best friend

today is Saturday.
i had a 'date' with my best friend, Phoebe.
few days ago, that is Thursday afternoon, we deal with a date on today. we will be having breakfast together at Sitiawan on Saturday morning. then may be go shopping or walk walk at Giant.

(Evelyn Loi, you should read this post... so bad u're not with us today. T.T miss u~ hehe~)

so today is the day.
early in the morning, i wake up and do some housework then waited for her to come and fetch me. she texted me and say her brother also want to follow. funny^^

in the car, we chat non stop. she was talking about her story in AIMST last time and now in MAHSA.

finally we reached our destination-- Old Town White Coffee, Manjung.

haha, right. is Giant Hypermarket which is just beside Old Town White Coffee, Manjung.
Phoebe told me that she just came Giant yesterday with her mum but she don't mind coming with me again today. =)
we really have fun even in Giant Hypermarket.
thinking what can be done in a simple supermarket? haha. we're just enjoyed ourselves.
since we don't have much chance come and shopping with friends.

first, we went and see the shoes department. just window looking at the shoes/slippers/sandals.
next, we went to clothes department.

Phoebe saw a cloth and it is so cheap. she plan to buy it, so i ask her go and try. she took another cloth as well before trying. and i took the same one.

we decided to buy it since it is only RM 19.99
(if M size, then is RM 24.99) i also dun know why.

after that, we 'continue our shopping' at the cloth department. i wanted to buy a jacket.
well, the jacket are quite cheap.
Phoebe took one jacket which is only RM 19.99 but the quality quite good and very warm when wearing it. she took purple and i took white colour.
same jacket again^^ haha.
then we went in front of the mirror, and ask her brother to help us take pic again.

after that we went to Chiew stationary shop at Sri Manjung.
but it is close today, coz public holiday i guess.
so i can't buy the things i want.

so we went back. she sent me back home and i washed my new cloth n jacket =)

then prepare to go to children church.
well, since Sis Ai Yue and Sis Mei Fang went to Medan with my mum, children church today less teacher. luckily me and Yu San are back. so we're helping today^^

my brother also attend today and he was playing guitar at the back while we sing.
then its game time. lead by Yu San but i'm the one talking and conducting most of the time =="
next, is story telling/ God's word sharing time. by me again...
well, i was talking about a story in bible which mentioned about a general name:乃缦，who患上麻风病。he went to 以色列to find the 先知以利亚. then....bla bla bla... tell until the story line are still very familiar in my mind now...

after children church, went to the main hall of our church for musician song practise.
Wayne Ern and her brother just came back from Penang and we had P&W practise for tomorrow.
tomorrow, i'm the 1st keyboardist and she is the 2nd keyboardist. coz Joey went Pangkor and Ps Joo Jia have be the back up singer.
we both are having fun too during practise although is my brother who conducting.
we're both 'new'....haha, actually is old...just that we quite some time didn't play keyboard in church service, so not familiar with some of the things already. haha....

in the evening, my dad bring me n my brother to Sitiawan for dinner.
he plan to go Old Town, but i say i wanna go 'Hei Huang Tornado'.
last time we went there, damn many ppl. coz it just re-open after few months.
but today when we went there, not much ppl.
ordered our meal and wait for not too long for the food to come. the service ok. compare to last time when just open, have to wait 1 hour plus only get to eat.

when we finish eating, the customers are becoming more and the shop almost full. luckily we came early. hehe.

next, we went Giant hypermarket coz my dad wanna somethings...
==" me going Giant twice a day....haiz. but i'm happy....haha~

in conclusion, today is really a happy...
tomorrow i'm be leaving home and back hostel again.
after church service, directly go Kg Cina meet my church members who having camp now in Pulau Pangkor. My best best friend n his family also with them now. They went today to teach Zan Mei Cao. tomorrow we'll be having lunch together @ Ah Pek Lee Kou Hock Seafood.

after lunch, i'll follow their bus back to SP and say bye bye to my family n BBF.
after reach SP, guess who will be sending me back hostel? but no worry ^^ sure there's a person, hehe....

yesterday my best best friend went to Ipoh with his family. and bought a small gift for me. hehe~
